"Apecat is the tool that allows Catalan independent companies to make hear our voices and the way in order that all together we can obtain the common goals "
Felix Buget, President of Apecat
The association of Catalans producers – publishers video and phonographic (APECAT) was constituted in December, 2003 in order to organize the record Catalan sector.
Nowadays it is constituted by 32 companies that represent 10 % of the Spanish record market and have an approximate volume of annual invoicing of 30 million Euros.
This representation allows us to act as a valid speaker so much with regard to the public administrations, or to any private entity.
The principal goal is to contribute to the economic and technological growth of Catalan record industry, facilitating commercial relations, promoting synergies and developing actions of representation.
APECAT forms a part of the recently constituted Plataforma Por La Música, which it is born with the goal of creating the Spanish Federation of independent music’s producers.
APECAT is member of Impala (European independent companies’ association) and it is in touch with Merlin (Foundation that works as commercial digital agency the holders of independent rights).
